Yes, the person enjoying preferential status must provide his/her Government-issued original identification documents with photo, in order to purchase the Welfare Ticket and must always keep these documents on him/her for any inspection.
In order to encourage commuters to take the MRT, our Company has launched the Commuting 135 Group Discount Project, the 120 and 369 Periodic Ticket Discount Projects, which are issued for 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, 120 days and Group Periodic Tickets (100 days, more than 300 group applications), with discounted price of 30%, 35%, 40% and 50% (calculated on a full fare ticket, twice a day for a total of 21 days per month) and 50% discount per group (based on full fare multiplied by 70 commuting days, 2 trips a day); passengers can choose the most cost-effective ticket according to their own needs. The holder of a fixed term ticket can enter and leave the designated station within the valid period for an unlimited number of times and for any type of ride. The ticket can be renewed 10 days before its expiry.

Single-Journey Ticket: Can be purchased at the Single-Journey Ticket vending machine or at the Station Information Counter according to the announced fare.
Single-Journey Preferential Ticket: For those over 65 years of age, those with physical or mental disabilities and for the person accompanying him/her. Must be purchased at the Station Information Counter, show the relevant documents and pay 50% of the announced fare.
Single-Journey Preferential Tickets for children: for children aged 6 years or above but below 12. Must be purchased at the Station Information Counter, show the relevant certifying documents and enjoy 20% discount on the fare. If you use electronic tickets from other ticketing companies, such as EasyCard Preferential ticket, iPASS Adult Students Card, the complete fare will be charged.
Group Tickets: Applicable to groups of 10 persons or more, must be purchased at the Station Information Counter, 20% discount on the announced fare.
Special offer for 120 and 369 Periodic Tickets: Periodic Ticket is a card that employs RFID technology to operate without physical contact, allowing the holder to travel within a valid period (30 days, 60 days, 90 days, 120 days), within the designated station range, with an unlimited number of rides. When purchasing a Periodic Ticket for the first time, the passenger must fill in a "Periodic Ticket Application Form" indicating the number of days and the starting station and pay a fixed Periodic Ticket fee of NT$50 for each sheet (non-refundable) and proceed to the Station Information Counter to have it processed. Discount is 30% for 30-day Periodic Ticket, roughly 35% for 60-day Periodic Ticket, 40% for 90-day Periodic Ticket and 50% for 120-day Periodic Ticket (calculated on a full fare Single-Journey Ticket, twice a day for a total of 21 days per month).

In addition to providing services to different groups of passengers in the Express/Commuter trains as well as supplying advanced check-in services, the Taoyuan Airport MRT Line also offers large luggage racks and flight information display systems for each train, allowing passengers, who are proceeding to Taoyuan International Airport, a more comprehensive service.
In order to serve air passengers, the Taoyuan Airport MRT Line provides In-Town Check-In and luggage handling service at A1Taipei Main Station. The luggage will be delivered directly to the airport through the luggage car of the Express trains via the automatic transmission system. Passengers going to Taoyuan International Airport can complete their check-in, obtain their boarding passes, register their luggage in advance at Taipei Main Station (A1) and use their time to carry on with their business matters or continue sightseeing in downtown. The headway of the Express train and the Commuter train is 15 minutes. Express and Commuter trains have staggered departures; in other words, during operating hours at A1 Taipei Main Station, there will be a train departing every seven minutes approximately and one train expected to depart from A21 Huanbei Station every fifteen minutes, since only Commuter trains stop at that station.
